Harry Jerome Community Recreation Centre

North Vancouver, BC

The Harry Jerome Community Recreation Centre in North Vancouver is a flagship civic project that integrates timber into a modern, sustainable design. At the heart of the facility, a timber and steel structure forms the welcoming entry building, housing the main lobby and multi-purpose rooms. Timber accents are also featured throughout the pool and fitness areas, creating a warm, natural aesthetic while supporting the building’s structural and environmental goals. Designed by hcma and engineered by Fast + Epp, the project combines wood with steel and concrete to deliver a cost-effective, architecturally engaging solution that meets the city’s vision for a durable, inclusive, and community-focused facility.
