Rogue Primary School
Central Point, ORFrom a conceptual standpoint, this project is innovative in how it prioritized nature, play, and choice. These concepts aided decision making from beginning to end. Natural materials, daylighting, ventilation, earthly color palettes, and diverse furniture selection all were informed by early design concepts. The use of CLT and glulam structure is one-of-a-kind in Southern Oregon. Furthermore, thorough coordination with the school district and design consultants has prepared the school for future expansion.
The innovative use of CLT structure in this project allows for flexibility and future expansion. The second level, which is now a vast semi-enclosed play space, will one day become additional insulated classrooms. The forward-thinking design will help effectively double the enrollment capacity in the future.
