Oceanfront Squamish – Presentation Centre and Public House
Squamish, BCThe Squamish Oceanfront Presentation Centre, designed by SLA Architects and built with mass timber from Kalesnikoff, is a shining example of sustainable design used to create a structurally expressive space. This 16,478 square foot building combines modern materials with local touches like yellow cedar and galvanized steel, echoing Squamish’s industrial history. This project is a key part of the larger Oceanfront Squamish development. The facility is planned to serve as both a community gathering place and a visitor centre. It integrates sustainable construction methods using mass timber to reduce its environmental impact.
With its open design and large windows, the building is filled with natural light, offering stunning views of Howe Sound, the Squamish Chief, and Shannon Falls. The use of mass timber connects the space to nature, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Expansive glazing links the mass timber interior with Oceanfront Park, creating a seamless connection to the natural surroundings.
