355 Sango Court
Milpitas, CA355 Sango Court is an affordable multifamily project consisting of 102 residential supportive housing units for residents with special needs (including formerly homeless, seniors and persons with disabilities). There are four stories of residential units which include a range of studios, 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom units built in light framed wood, volumetric modular construction. The ground floor is built of concrete type I construction and includes common areas, property management offices, residential support services spaces and parking with parking stackers. In addition to the entry court here is a large common courtyard atop the level 2 concrete podium and a common outdoor terrace at level 5.
The project team was aligned in an off-site modular approach for the wood construction and engaged in a collaborative process that included a digital twin, VR design reviews, and standardized construction practices. Having the units built off-site, combined with onsite expertise and tightly managed processes, enabled the project to finish nearly three months ahead of schedule.
