Toronto and Region Conservation Authority Administration Building (TRCA)
Toronto, ON
The TRCA, certified CAGBC Zero Carbon Building, is one of the most energy-efficient office buildings in North America. It includes an innovative, energy-efficient, four-story administrative office constructed of mass timber .
It is a fully-wood building, including exit stairs and an elevator shaft and cladding, and has many interesting features such as four solar chimneys, waterwalls for low energy heating and cooling, and an integrated geo-exchange heat pump and solar thermal panel system.
This new facility utilizing raised access floor, underfloor air distribution and modular power will reduce operating costs, while helping TRCA deliver the best possible customer service and support. Additionally, it will serve as an example of best practices in green building.
