Hoover Elementary School Campus Replacement

Palo Alto, CA

This full campus replacement project will utilize TimberQuest™ for the entire campus. The 60,000 s.f. project includes demolition and site clearance of the existing campus, followed by the construction of a new one-story kindergarten classroom building (4,500 s.f.), a one-story library and administration building (7,500 s.f.), a new, two-story main classroom building (37,500 s.f.) and a new multipurpose building (7,000 s.f.). Demolition began in March of 2024, with the campus completed in time for students to start the 2025-26 school year.

Speed: The exterior CLT wall panels are prefabricated offsite, including the skin, and utilize the DSA prechecked TimberQuest design. The structure utilizes the exterior CLT wall panels and light framed interior wood walls for shear, and does not rely on a steel or concrete lateral system. The entire campus replacement project will be completed in 15 months, which includes four months of site improvement and demolition. The four new buildings will be constructed in only 11 months.
