Biomass Boiler Building
Quincy, CAThis is the first full Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) building in the state of California. It couples a biomass boiler with a small-scale power generator, resulting in an innovative system that is the first of its kind in California. The boiler uses organic waste material to generate heat and power for Plumas County's Health and Human Services Department. The architectural design of the building showcases the use of mass timber with completely exposed surfaces on the interior, and exposed wood underneath the rood eaves.
