Blenheim Covered Bridge

    Originally built in 1855, the Blenheim Covered Bridge in North Blenheim, NY was destroyed in a flood caused by Hurricane Irene in 2011. Reconstruction of the bridge structure was completed in 2018 and with a 210 ft. clear-span and 228 ft. overall length, is the longest existing covered bridge in the world and stands as a testament to the rich history of Heavy Timber structures in the United States.  The Heavy Timbers were manufactured by Lancaster County Timber Frames Inc. in PA and delivered to the site for assembly and then the assembled structure was moved into place on the concrete abutments.  This method of pre-manufacturing allowed for reduced site time and lower overall construction costs.
