Athabasca University Academic Research Centre

Athabasca, AB

This building hosts all of Athabasca University's Academic Centres, the University Collections Centres, and a number of meeting and collaborative spaces. Wood was used throughout the project to achieve maximum sustainability, without sacrificing any of the aesthetics. Spruce Pine Glulam beams help create clerestories and tall window walls, allowing as much natural light into the building as possible and blending it seamlessly into the surrounding forest canopy.
