Appleton International Airport Expansion (ATW)

Appleton, WI

Appleton International Airport (ATW) renovated its commercial terminal to enhance the user experience. The plan focused on sustainability and accommodating current and future growth. Our architects and engineers worked with the Airport to develop its sustainability plan and provided design services. Our design included features that promote community health and wellness such as a mother’s nursing room and bottle-filling watercoolers. A “living wall” was planted in the screening area to lower passenger stress. We also made room to add a security screening checkpoint lane in the future by relocating the car rental outside the terminal. In addition, we added a new restaurant and gift shop in the center of the reception lobby, creating an open community space. Timeless, durable, and low-maintenance finishes across the terminal facility create a cohesive feel.
