Westminster College Integrated Wellness

Salt Lake City, UT

This building showcases its commitment to the environment with exposed mass timber throughout, including beams, columns, and wall panels made from cross-laminated timber (CLT). The CLT panels even form the roof's understructure, creating a beautiful exposed wood ceiling. To further minimize its environmental impact, the building aims to achieve net-zero energy consumption through the use of solar panels.

Beyond its eco-friendly construction, the center prioritizes community engagement. The expansion provides additional space for classes and programs open to everyone. A state-of-the-art teaching kitchen, equipped with multiple cooking stations, will offer opportunities for learning about healthy eating and cooking techniques. Enhancing the community feel, the building wraps around a central courtyard perfect for relaxation, meditation, gardening, and other activities that promote well-being.
