New Crittenton Center

Columbus, OH

The New Crittenton Community Center in Columbus, OH, is an eagerly anticipated project for the Directions for Youth & Families organization. Scheduled to open in the summer of 2023, the center aims to offer comprehensive support to local youth in need by providing housing, food, healthcare, and after-school and summer programs.

The construction of this 20,000-square-foot building has been a long-awaited endeavor for both the community and the organization. However, it faced initial setbacks due to supply chain issues and escalating costs, causing delays in the construction process. Despite these challenges, the project eventually secured the necessary funding to proceed and make the vision a reality.

In order to achieve the desired look and feel for the community center, the project selected engineered wood products, among other materials. Engineered wood products are known for their versatility, strength, and cost-effectiveness. By utilizing these products, the center can achieve its aesthetic and functional goals while staying within the allocated budget.

The decision to incorporate engineered wood products demonstrates the commitment of the project to create a space that is not only functional but also visually appealing. The use of such products can contribute to a warm and welcoming atmosphere for the community center, aligning with its mission to provide support and social services to those in need.

Despite the initial challenges, the New Crittenton Community Center in Columbus, OH, is set to open as planned in the summer of 2023. It will stand as a testament to the determination of the community and the organization to create a facility that addresses the needs of local youth and serves as a valuable resource for the community.
