Cy Fair Natatorium

The project is located on the Pridgeon Athletics Complex, adjacent to Pridgeon football stadium and is intended to provide a home for competitive swimming and allow Cy-Fair ISD to host large district swim meets. Cy-Fair ISD can also support it’s district wide Splash program—a swimming program for all ages, high school diving and recreational swimming. The natatorium contains a 50-meter pool with seating for more than 900 guests above the swimming deck along with restrooms, concessions, classroom and meet space and locker areas. The natatorium features an arched entry with interior glass walls providing a panoramic view to the entire pool area from the lobby. Natural light can shine on the pool through the cerestory windows on opposite walls. The aluminum bleacher spectator seating is raised 4 feet from the pool deck for optimum sight lines. Temporary seating can be provided to increase the spectator capacity to over 1,400 seats. The column free space above the pool is supported by 140’ long 96” deep glulam beams on concrete columns. Glulam purlins span between the beams with wood plank decking. Perimeter CMU walls provide the lateral system.
