As an engineering firm born out of the Pacific Northwest, KPFF has always had a strong connection to timber design, be it the design of new timber structures or the retrofit of turn-of-the-century heavy timber structures. This includes extensive experience with the modern mass timber technology of Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT), where KPFF leads ongoing research in the United States.
