Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation (OSSTF) New Headquarters and Multi-Tenant Commercial Building

Toronto, ON

The Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation Headquarters (OSSTF) is a 124,000 SF progressive mass timber building overlooking the Don Valley Ravine in Toronto. It is highly sustainable targeting LEED Platinum certification and high energy level performance (67 kWhr/m2/year).

The architecture promotes health and wellness at every level. Natural daylighting has been maximized by putting cooling systems under the raised access floor to increase visible floor to floor height. Designed to the highest environmental standards, the OSSTF/FEESO headquarters is built on a foundation of social, environmental and financial sustainability.  Raised access flooring, underfloor air distribution, air towers, modular power, porcelain flooring and porcelain pavers were all used in this building to create a truly flexible, accessible infrastructure hiding everything under the floor and covering them with beautful finishes to leave the wood ceiling fully exposed.
