Crosswood Apartments

Eugene, OR

At the onset, ownership requested designing a CLT structure as a primary goal to achieve an innovative multi family project. The first of it's kind in Eugene, Oregon, the approach produced a building with a unique identity. All the units have exposed CLT ceilings which bring warmth and biophilic expression to each tenant's living experience. The speed of construction was also an important factor for the floor and roof systems. The panelized wood framing was also efficient as the bearing walls were fabricated off site. As the first CLT multi family project in the city, innovation was a primary focus.

The building is fully leased and tenants love the exposed CLT, large windows and tall ceilings. The platinum award from Earth Advantage is recognized as an ecological achievement. Professors from the nearby University of Oregon architecture school tour the building often to study the CLT approach and building details.
