One Bridgeland Green
Cypress, TX
Village Green at Bridgeland Central is a 70-acre mixed-use project developed by Howard Hughes in the growing Bridgeland master-planned community in Cypress, Texas. The project includes One Bridgeland Green, a three-story mass timber office building - the first in the greater Houston area. Kirksey is the Architect of Record and worked in conjunction with design architect Lake Flato and general contractor Tellepsen to create a 49,000-sf office building that showcases the natural beauty of mass timber design and contributes to the development's appeal as a curated and attractive destination to work, shop, and play.
One Bridgeland Green employs biophilic strategies throughout the building to center the design on the building's occupants' health, wellness, and experience. Mass timber naturally emphasizes the wood's connection to nature - reinforced through large windows and integrated balconies and porches - and creates a warm, welcoming environment for all who visit or work within the building. The mass timber structural system also prioritizes sustainability through a reduced carbon footprint compared to traditional construction. One Bridgeland Green is designed to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold and Fitwel Certifications.
