Fastenal Riverfront Office
Winona, MNHome to 450 Fastenel employees, the mass timber frame building pays homage to the downtown Winona riverfront with locally sourced stone and mixed media building materials.
Originally proposed as a steel frame core, the project team proposed an alternative mass timber frame design due to a growing focus on building sustainability and occupant health and well-being. The project team was fascinated to learn about biophilia in architecture and reducing the building's carbon footprint. The building’s sustainable strategies include natural daylighting, highly efficient thermal envelope, and raised access air HVAC floor systems. Additionally, wood gives the building energy and a vibe of its own. People want to stay longer because the environment is appealing.
Multiple Fastenal products can be seen throughout the building.
