Bremer Bank Minot
Minot, ND
This 7,500-square-foot new building for a Bremer Bank branch in Minot, North Dakota, combines the services from an existing downtown branch and a smaller branch across town. The new branch is located at a major intersection in the growing southwestern edge of Minot. The project followed the Bremer Playbook—the design guidelines we developed for the bank’s entire system and branding efforts. This branch in Minot is one of the first new buildings to incorporate those guidelines.
Designed under the Hub typology, the Minot location features a cross-laminated and glue-lam timber structure, in a form reminiscent of the trestle bridges of the region. The main structural elements are metal panels and high-performance glazing set outboard of the enclosure. The customer plaza opens to a double-height space to the south and a balcony to the north. The branch features three “partner tables” rather than a traditional bank teller line for improved service and stronger banker-customer relationships. There are also private offices, public and private meeting spaces, open workstations, a drive-thru lane and an outdoor terrace.
